There are some reality TV success stories, but most reality TV show are attention-getters and nothing more. Making anything of that attention will rely a lot on you!
Here’s what you need to know before you sign your name on the dotted line:
1. Producers are making a TV show and their main priority is making it successful. So anything you say on camera is up for grabs and editing can portray you in any manner they see fit. Crazy, out-of-control, combative personalities sell, and the boring, nice people won’t get much camera time. But if you do exaggerate your personality for the ratings, remember that you may come off poorly – and your family, friends, and co-workers are watching!

Drama is what reality TV is all about and, if you can bring drama to the show, then you will definitely get the attention. Besides that, you may even get your own reality TV show.
It is amazing what sells. First there was Jerry Springer, then there was Survivor, Tennesee, LOL.
I want to see about being on “The Next Action Hero” reality show.
That’d be fun.
That’s so true, my brother took acting classes from a guy but he was more for stage than TV or Film. Our new acting coach had to re think not to be so dramatic but instead be more himself but bring our the emotions.

Reality TV seems be the new way to get yourself known in the industry. Some of the stars go on to do other things in the entertainment business such as singing, modeling or other tv shows.
i would never turn down a reality show part but then again you have to remember your just a person acting as a character. It’s way too much drama for me. Similar to watching National News,

It surprises me that so many people on reality dating shows are being given their own shows also. I mean, first I can think of is I Love New York, then That’s Amore, then the new show with Real and Chance. It looks like one big chain reaction. These people that got their own shows did do some obvious shockers on TV and people can’t get enough of it.

Reality TV is making everyone stay tuned but you are correct saying if you are a boring nice person you would’nt make it because it’s all about the drama that keeps people tuned into it
week after week.
Renee, good advice. It can be easy to get carried away in the moment, but when the show is edited and aired, we all want to have something that we are proud for our mom to see. Your advice, “Remember that you may come off poorly – and your family, friends, and co-workers are watching!” is something to ALWAYS keep in mind. ~ Janet
