Excellent article to remind all of us that most *stars* start small and work hard – with endurance and perseverance – to get well-paying and well-known roles. Kelly’s story is very similar to advice given to members by IC’s own member Alexiy-Don Saint-Michael: to act in plays, as much as you can. As Alexiy says, “Shine in the smallest role and you can get to film.” btw, I watched Kelly this morning as I was dressing for work; she was telling Regis that she refuses to cut bangs into her hair … I’m sure that the statement was in a funny context, which I had missed; regardless, Kelly shines. ~ Janet
I didn’t know that about Kelly Ripa. It just shows that you can be discovered almost anywhere.
When I hear the name, Kelly Ripa, and I see her face; I instantly think of “All My Children”. That is the only show I remember her from until I saw her hosting “Regis and Kelly”. I’m not familiar with anything else before those two shows.
