Word of the Day: Cabbage Patching
Categories: Daily Advice
CABBAGE PATCHING – A term used in the entertainment industry to indicated a simultaneous broadcast with 2 live satellite feeds, going on at the same time for the same channel. For example, during the presidential race, many news stations all over the country covered the event both nationwide and in their hometown area. They used the cabbage patching technique to show several places at once!

I am curious as the derivation of the word. I could only think of the doll.
When I first saw the “Word of the Day”, I laughed because I was wondering how do you relate a term in the entertainment industry to a doll. LOL!
