Word of the Day: Development hell
Categories: Daily Advice
DEVELOPMENT HELL – Media-industry jargon for a screenplay, concept, or idea taking an especially long time to start production, if ever. The film industry buys rights to more projects then it can handle at one time, such as popular novels, video games, and comics. But it may take years for such properties to be successfully brought to cinema, and often with considerable changes!
