Word of the Day: Greenlight

InstantCast Word of the DayGREENLIGHTTo formally approve production finance, allowing the project to move from the development phase to pre-production and principal photography. This term is used in many ways in Hollywood. For example, a project which is financed is said to be greenlit or greenlighted, and a studio executive who has authority to grant greenlight status to a project is said to have greenlight power.
