Thanks to Jenny, the MTV casting director whose InstantCast blogs you all read & love every week, I was lucky enough to attend the live taping of MTV’s TRL finale last night–it was amazing!

I saw Beyonce perform her new hit “If I Were a Boy” and “Single Ladies!” She’s so beautiful, talented, and has the coolest band!

Fifty Cent, Ludacris, and Snoop Dogg were among some of the rappers who showed up. Of course P.Diddy made an appearance and was dripping with bling! Kid Rock walked on smoking a cigar and drinkin’ a beer… I also got to see Justin Timberlake & J.C. Chasez!

It was a crazy night and I’m so happy I could be a part of this memorable, star-studded event! TRL we will miss you!

I definitely remember racing home after school to catch Carson Daly hosting TRL. How about you guys? Which old-school TRL host defined the show for you? Which one did you crush on the hardest?

The original. Carson defined TRL for its first 5 years, but did he lose favor after he left MTV to host his own show?

Quddus
Quddus won fans with his cute dimples, sense of humor, and of course, that hair! Now he hosts Nickelodeon show Dance on Sunset!

La La Vasquez
Since her stint on TRL, she’s hosted the reunion specials of Flavor of Love, I Love New York, and Flavor of Love Girls: Charm School.

This week InstantCast celebrates MTV. Many of today’s hottest musicians got their start on MTV’s popular video countdown show, Total Request Live. The show is coming to an end this Sunday after ten years.

I remember rushing home from school to watch TRL when it first debuted in 1998. Carson Daly was a newbie on the scene interviewing everyone from an innocent 16 year old Britney Spears to the new pop group ‘N Sync!

Don’t forget to watch the live finale on MTV at 8pm this Sunday. Look for me in the audience–I’ll be there!
