As a commercial actor, you may not always be a fan of what you’re promoting. You may not even be sure why you were cast! The world of commercial acting can be pretty confusing, so here’s a few tips to keep in mind:

1. All types of commercials can help you get started. Never turn down a chance to practice your craft, especially when you can boost your acting reel!

2. You may not believe the main points of a commercial, like a political message or a medical claim). But as a professional actor, you should learn to grin and bear it. Remember, your character is supporting this product, not you.

3. You might appeal to a different demographic than you think! Most commercials are shown at many different times and appeal to a broad audience. Don’t hesitate to audition for a wide range of commercials, even if you’re not sure you fit the part.
