The commercial is part of Coca-Cola’s Open Happiness campaign emphasizing that we all understand the universal language of Coca-Cola.

“When you open a Coca-Cola, you hear the unmistakable sounds that are the ultimate invitation to ‘Open Happiness’ and enjoy a simple moment of refreshment,” says Katie Bayne, Chief Marketing Officer, Coca-Cola North America.

“We know there’s nothing quite like drinking a Coca-Cola, so if people share their interpretations of how that sounds, have fun and make us thirsty, we may put them in a Coca-Cola commercial.”

“Fans of Coca-Cola’s Facebook fan page can upload a one-minute video entry showcasing their own take on the theme, Sounds of Coca-Cola. The individually created videos must impersonate a pre-selected list of possible sounds including, opening a bottle or can of Coca-Cola, ice cubes clinking as they drop into a glass, pouring Coca-Cola over ice, the fizzing of Coke bubbles after the beverage is poured, the first drink of Coca-Cola or the “ahh” moment of refreshment.”

Coca-Cola’s Facebook fan page is the largest and most popular branded page online with just over 3.7 million fans.

    1. All types of commercials can help you get started. Never turn down a chance to practice your craft, especially when you can boost your acting reel!

    2. You may not believe the main points of a commercial, like a political message or a medical claim). But as a professional actor, you should learn to grin and bear it. Remember, your character is supporting this product, not you.

    3. You might appeal to a different demographic than you think! Most commercials are shown at many different times and appeal to a broad audience. Don’t hesitate to audition for a wide range of commercials, even if you’re not sure you fit the part.

    Myth #3: Commercial actors never become major film stars. Look at about Justin Long, who used to be know as “the Mac guy.” Not only did he star with Bruce Willis in the 2007 blockbuster Live Free or Die Hard, he’s got eight major movies in production now!
