1. EMILY OSMENT, 16

Yes, she’s Haley Joel Osment’s little sis, but Emily definitely isn’t living in her family’s shadow. Emily plays friend and sidekick to Miley Cyrus’s Hannah Montana, but she’s not satisfied with being a Disney darling. Unlike Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato, Emily’s upcoming album won’t be on the Disney label… she’s recording an indie rock record on a separate label and she’s penned some of the songs herself! Rock on.

2. DEMI LOVATO, 16

Demi quickly made herself a household name with her role as Mitchie Torres in Camp Rock. Next up? Camp Rock 2, and her own TV show Sonny with a Chance. But Demi’s debut album Don’t Forget proved she’s got a rebellious side waiting to come out… don’t be surprised if she makes a break and leaves Disney in the dust.
