Here at InstantCast, we love a good meeting of the minds. So that’s why I’m excited to see how Josh Schwartz fares with the new X-Men movie, X-Men: First Class.

Who’s Josh Schwartz? Oh, only the mastermind behind this generation’s hottest teen dramas: The O.C. and Gossip Girl.

He’ll be penning the new X-Men script, which focuses on a younger set of mutants. Dealing with hormones and mutant genes? Should be one heck of a ride, and I’d love to see some Gossip Girl-esque scheming going on in the halls of Xavier Academy.

But The First Class isn’t the only X-Men spin-off in the works. Keep your eyes out for the Hugh Jackman vehicle X-Men Origins: Wolverine as well as another “Origins” flick focusing on Magneto’s early years.
