Movies, television, and music can definitely become addicting and some people take their obsession to a higher level and become what I like to call “crazy fans.”

For example, the nation is currently teeming with Twilight addicts who know everything about the series, have pictures of Robert Pattinson all over their rooms, and wish that they were vampires! The idea of the “crazy fan” may seem silly and over the top…

…but that said, crazy fans make great television and pay a big role in promoting entertainment.

When the crazy fan following exists, you know there is a demand for the product. TRL was all about hooking up crazy fans. We actually devoted most of last summer to finding the biggest fans of artists such as Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, and the Jonas Brothers and we hooked these fans up with cool prizes and opportunities. It made for great television: MTV viewers enjoyed watching the extremes that people would go to be honored with the “number one fan” title.

The artists loved it too because they got to interact with their most devoted fans. Our Taylor Swift winner actually got to go on the set of one of her music videos! If you are a crazy fan, check out the contests you can get involved in. There could be some really fun opportunities out there that you would be perfect for!
