“The amazing thing about the Twilight saga is that it came out of nowhere,” explains 24 year-old Twilight fan Lauren. Lauren was at the ReelzChannel TwiCon correspondent open call at NYC’s Borders at Columbus Circle yesterday in hopes of landing a “news correspondent” gig. The casting call asked all Twilight fans to come out & audition to be their on-air correspondent at the upcoming TwiCon convention.

Lauren told me that Twilight is unlike other films with devoted followings – Star Trek, Harry Potter etc. – because it reaches people of all ages, ethnicities, and countries. Even though Lauren’s day job is at a design/production company, she hopes to get this gig. She feels confident that she has what it take, especially since she has prior on-air experience & can speak articulately about the Twilight zone!
